Seki to build USD 27.3m (JPY 4.3bn) flexible packaging plant in Ehime
Japanese printer Seki has approved construction of a new water-based flexographic printing and converting plant in Toon, Ehime Prefecture, at an estimated cost of JPY 4.3bn (USD 27.3m). The facility will produce flexible packaging such as food bags and beverage labels, with construction starting in February 2027 and operations due to begin in April 2028.
Why this mattersWater-based flexo capacity of this size shifts a commercial printer's mix toward food and beverage flexibles as Japanese graphic print volumes contract.
