Syklo starts up 50,000-tonne plastics recycling plant in Finland

Finnish recycler Syklo has started up a mixed plastics recycling plant in Hyvinkää with annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes, the largest such facility in the country. The EUR 70-80 million investment raises Finland's overall plastics recycling capacity by about 50 percent and created over 100 jobs, producing recycled PP and PE grades alongside biocomposite materials.

Why this mattersThe plant materially expands European recycled-plastics supply ahead of PPWR recycled-content requirements, tightening competition for feedstock and offtake.
