German colourant maker Rowasol launches biobased liquid colour range
Rowasol, a German additive producer based in Pinneberg, has launched GreenLine, a range of liquid colours for plastics with a carrier system containing more than 75% renewable raw materials. The colourants include plant-derived pigments from indigo, curcumin and radish extracts, alongside a plant-derived black and a mineral-based white, and are dosed at 0.5%-2.0% depending on the polymer.
Why this mattersHigher-biobased-content colourants give plastics converters, including packaging producers, a route to lower fossil content without changing dosing or processing equipment.
