China sets first national standard for PETG film, led by Shandong maker
Shandong Shenghe Film New Materials, a PETG film producer based in Weifang's bonded zone, has led drafting of China's first national standard for PETG film, filling a gap that had left the market without unified quality benchmarks. The standard takes effect on 1 February 2027 and sets terminology, classification, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for the material. The company produces 32,000 tonnes of PETG film a year, exported to more than 60 countries.
Why this mattersA unified national standard could raise quality floors and reduce fragmentation in China's PETG film supply, used widely for bottle labels and protective films.
