BRVM suspends trading in SONOCO Metal Packaging and two other Ivorian issuers

The regional stock exchange BRVM suspended trading in three Ivorian companies, including metal packaging maker SONOCO Metal Packaging, from 16 September 2026 for breaches of financial disclosure rules. SONOCO and coconut processor SICOR failed to publish first-quarter and first-half 2026 results, while sugar producer Sucrivoire did not disclose price-sensitive information. Trading will resume once each company files the required disclosures.

Why this mattersThe suspension cuts off liquidity for one of the region's listed metal packaging producers until it corrects disclosure failures flagged for a second time in a year.
