CCL Label launches recyclability configurator as suppliers show floatable shrink sleeves at Loupe

CCL Label has launched a website featuring a Sustainability Configurator that matches label and decoration technologies to a brand's packaging substrate and recycling stream, timed to the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation beginning to apply. Separately, Innovia Films showed three variants of its RayoFloat polyolefin shrink sleeve at the Loupe Americas trade show, engineered to float away from PET during sink/float sorting. Taghleef Industries and Inx International showed competing floatable sleeve and ink technologies at the same event.

Why this mattersAs PPWR and US state EPR fees tighten recyclability rules, label and sleeve suppliers are competing to supply sorting-compatible materials and the design tools that specify them.

  • CCL Label launched a website with a Sustainability Configurator matching label and decoration technologies to packaging substrate and recycling stream.
  • CCL's Sustainable Product Family includes EcoFloat, EcoStream, WashOff, EcoSource, EcoStretch and EcoShear technologies.
  • The configurator launch coincides with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation beginning to apply.
  • Innovia Films' RayoFloat polyolefin shrink sleeve line now has three variants: clear (APO), white opaque (WAPO) and high-shrink (APO-HS).
  • Innovia says its floatable sleeve technology has been in the European market for roughly five years, driven by EU packaging rules.
  • Taghleef Industries showed its SHAPE360 TDSW white polyolefin sleeve and Inx International its Genesis floatable ink system at Loupe Americas.
