Viking Drone Packaging wins UK VCA approval for crash-proof drone container

Viking Drone Packaging has secured a Letter of Recommendation from the UK Vehicle Certification Agency for a crash protected container designed to carry radiopharmaceuticals by drone, the first such approval worldwide. The container passed helicopter drop tests from 400 feet and was developed over more than two years with regulators, the NHS and drone operators; the recommendation feeds into the wider Civil Aviation Authority approval process required before commercial dangerous-goods drone operations can proceed.
