Pakistan imposes 9.03% anti-dumping duty on Chinese pharma foil

Pakistan's National Tariff Commission has imposed a provisional 9.03% anti-dumping duty on imports of Alu Alu Foil pharmaceutical packaging material from China, for four months. The measure follows a complaint by domestic producer Zenith Packages Industries and a finding that dumped Chinese imports caused material injury to the local industry. A final determination is due within 180 days of the preliminary notice.

Why this mattersThe duty raises input costs for Pakistani blister-pack converters sourcing Chinese aluminium-polymer laminate and may shift demand toward domestic foil suppliers.

• Provisional anti-dumping duty set at 9.03%, equal to the injury margin rather than the full dumping margin.
• Duty applies to Cold Forming Foil and Tropical Foil under PCT codes 7607.1990 and 7607.2000.
