Amcor supplies Tiptree with 30% recycled-content films ahead of UK tax change
Amcor has supplied Tiptree, the preserves brand owned by Wilkin & Sons, with RecyClass-certified collation shrink film and Bontite Sustane stretch wrap containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. The switch positions Tiptree for UK Plastic Packaging Tax rules taking effect from April 2027, when only PCR content will count toward the 30% recycled-plastic threshold and post-industrial recycled content will no longer qualify. Both films are made at Amcor's Leominster and Bromborough sites in the UK and carry EN15343 traceability certification.
Why this mattersThe UK's shift to a PCR-only recycled-content threshold from April 2027 will force other brand owners using PIR-blended films to requalify their packaging or face higher tax exposure.
