UFP Industries posts 11% Q3 sales growth as freight and lumber costs squeeze margins
UFP Industries reported third-quarter 2026 net sales of USD 1.73bn, up 11.1% from about USD 1.56bn a year earlier, but net earnings attributable to controlling interests fell to about USD 58m from USD 75m. The wood products and packaging group blamed higher freight and lumber-related costs for the margin decline; the figures exclude its pending acquisition of Apache Products, expected to close around mid-November.
Why this mattersRising freight and material costs are compressing margins for wood-based packaging and pallet suppliers even as volumes and pricing hold up.
