Wausau Coated Products launches wash-away adhesive for reusable bottles

Wausau Coated Products introduced WA-669, a wash-away pressure-sensitive adhesive designed for on-bottle wine and spirits labels used in reusable and returnable glass programmes, at LOUPE Americas 2026. The adhesive holds firm under ice-bucket conditions but releases in hot-water or caustic wash systems, or in home washing. The launch includes two FSC-certified facestock options paired with a 90% recycled PET liner.

Why this mattersA washable adhesive removes a technical barrier to bottle reuse, a route brand owners are exploring to cut virgin glass use and meet circularity targets.

• Facestocks are paired with WA-669 and a 1.2 mil liner made of 90% recycled polyester (r-PET)
