BASF launches lower-carbon paper coating dispersions
BASF has introduced a range of reduced Product Carbon Footprint (rPCF) dispersions for paper coating, produced at its Ludwigshafen Verbund site using a mass-balance approach with low-PCF raw materials and renewable electricity and steam. The products cut cradle-to-gate emissions by around 20% to 45% versus BASF's conventional binders and are designed as drop-in substitutes requiring no requalification, aimed at helping packaging customers meet Scope 3.1 purchased-goods emissions targets.
